Baugur is an international investment company in the retail and fashion sectors in the UK, the USA and Scandinavia. Companies related to Baugur employ some 54,000 people worldwide in over 4,000 stores with a total turnover of £5.0 billion.

The CEO of Baugur is Gunnar Sigurðsson.

Among Baugur's principal investments are the supermarket chain Iceland, the toy retailer Hamleys, the jewellery chain Goldsmiths, fashion chains Whistles and Jane Norman, the health products chain Julian Graves, fashion company Mosaic Fashions, renowned UK department store chain, House of Fraser, the famous Danish department store chain Magasin du Nord and Illum, one of Denmark's largest department stores.

In 2008 Baugur was awarded the President of Iceland's Award for Export Achievement in recognition of the outstanding contribution to promoting and stimulating Icelandic exports as well as for leadership in the Icelandic expansion abroad and the unique success the company has achieved in the field of retail.
